Happy Valentine’s Day!
So you didn’t have time to bake and decorate a cake or cupcakes? Or even dozens of cookies? No problem! There’s still time to whip up a sweet treat.
You can make this deliciously big Valentine’s Day Heart Cookie in no time and have it ready before your little loves get home from school. Enjoy it plain or have your kiddos decorate their own slices for an added bit of fun!
Even if you don’t have a heart-shaped pan, a round pizza pan works; then go crazy with the Valentine’s sprinkles and candy. Or you can fashion a heart shape out of tin foil and lay on a pan and bake as directed.

Fun Valentine's Day Heart Cookie
Happy Valentine’s Day! Surprise your little Valentines with this sweet treat which can be whipped up in minutes.
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray pan with vegetable pan spray.
In large bowl, with electric mixer, beat butter with sugars until light and fluffy (about two minutes).
Add egg and vanilla. Mix well.
Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well.
Stir in chocolate chips.
With slightly dampened or floured fingers spread dough into prepared pan. Bake 14-16 minutes or until light golden brown. Do not overbake if you want a chewy cookie!
Cool on rack 5 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool before decorating. Cut and enjoy!
