Morning Glory Mango-Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie

OK.  Does a smoothie really merit its own blog post?  Ordinarily I would say, “No”, however, today is different.

I make myself a breakfast smoothie pretty much every. single. morning.  I love them.  I even keep the blender out on the already-crowded counter just to make it easier so I don’t have to go to the bother of taking it out and putting it away every day.

My go-to smoothie is the run-of-the-mill strawberry-banana.  Oh, don’t get me wrong; sometimes I get all crazy and substitute the 1% milk for almond milk.  Or I might use blueberry yogurt instead of vanilla.  Whoah!

But today, as I was arranging the fruit in the fruit bowl, it struck me…Mango!

Oh, my.

Silky, creamy, sweet deliciousness.

Morning Glory Mango-Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie

In a blender:

1 C milk (your choice, but not chocolate)

1/2 C or one single-serving container yogurt (whatever flavor strikes your fancy; I prefer vanilla or strawberry)

1 fresh, ripe mango, peeled and sliced (I like the yellow mangoes)

4-5 frozen strawberries

Place lid on blender and get your motor running!  Blend until smooth.

If you like it not quite as thick, add a little more milk and blend.

You can also add a scoop of protein powder for added boost.

Makes one giant breakfast-sized serving or two teaser-servings.

Calorie count:  Bahahaha!

Yum factor:  Off the hook!
